My name is Rachel Hebert, and I have been married to my husband Chad for 26 years. We have two daughters, Kamryn (21) and Hannah (19). We live in Schriever and love spending time with our family and friends.

Professional Profile
I am currently working as the special education/resource learning coach in the Houma location. I assist the learning coaches in helping students who may be struggling in a certain area or just may need one-on-one or smaller group assistance. I retired in January of 2022 with 25 years in education, 17 of which were spent at Nicholls as a coordinator in the Dyslexia Center, where I had the pleasure of working with students who struggle with dyslexia and related learning disabilities.

Education, Honors, Certifications, Awards
I majored in elementary education at Nicholls State University and graduated in 1996. I later obtained my master’s degree in special education in 2003 and have been servicing students with special needs ever since.

Key Qualifications
During the years, I have worked with students from kindergarten age into adulthood and have learned though my education and my experience how to determine the needs of students and work with each one to find strategies that will help them achieve success. Many of the students I have worked with struggle with processing and getting ideas down on paper. I have enjoyed watching students use specific strategies to help them become better with the written word.
