Our core curriculum courses do not use textbooks. All of the information needed is contained within the courses. For our language arts courses, students may need to purchase a novel or borrow one from the library for novel study (if applicable). Other courses such as Math-U-See requires a student workbook and manipulatives (varies upon level). Some AP and honors courses may require a textbook, however, all other material is online. For those taking the reading enhancement course, we suggest the purchase of a workbook, but it is not required.
We do not require our parents to have achieved a college degree (or any level of education) to homeschool their children. No amount of education can match the love and concern a parent has for his or her own children. We provide the guidance you need to succeed.
We urge all parents to comply with homeschool laws for their local area. Visit HSLDA.org to learn about homeschooling laws in your area.
Students can enroll in up to six courses at a time with a maximum of two electives.
Most students are able to complete their lessons in four hours per day. Each student is able to work at his or her own pace so more or less time is not unusual.
Yes, eLearning Academy is fully accredited by the National Private School Accrediting Group (NPSAG). You can rest assured that your students will receive a quality education and an accredited diploma upon graduation (Level 2, Level 3S, and Level 3H only).
At eLearning Academy, we honor every student’s achievements, whether great or small. We offer three tracks toward graduation. Visit our page on Graduation Requirements for details.
When a student completes a course, the parent may request an additional course to be added to the student’s schedule.
Please consult your tax professional. If you live in Louisiana and you are enrolled in the Home Study Program, you may be able to deduct homeschool expenses from your state income taxes. Again, consult your tax professional.
